The following are examples of the kinds of students Application Navigation serves:
Marta’s parents came here from Ethiopia. Marta is a bright young woman who wants to go to a four-year college but has no idea where to start.
Tom just returned from Afghanistan. He had two years of college before enlisting and would now like to complete his education. He’s an older, non-traditional student struggling with PTSD who wants to find a learning environment where people understand what’s he’s been through these past four years.
Ben struggles in school with ADHD. He is a determined young man and will do well after high school in the right environment. However, he goes to a local public school with over 800 students and his counselor does not have time to give him additional attention. He can’t afford an independent college advisor.
Gaby came to the United States when she was one month old. Although she has lived here her entire life, she is considered an undocumented student. Gaby will be graduating at the top of her class but does not know how to apply to college without a social security number. She also needs financial aid.
With enough support, Application Navigation can help Marta, Tom, Ben Gaby and many more like them. Through our programs and individualized advising, we hope to give every student who asks for our help the knowledge and confidence they need to make their dreams come true.
If you’d also like to help students like these, we ask you to consider including Application Navigation in your gift planning this year. All contributions are tax-deductible and go directly to helping students in need, giving them the gift of higher education and the opportunity to make a difference in the world.
