What we do for returning veterans . . .
Entering the academic environment after serving in the military can be a culture shock entirely of its own. We understand there are multiple facets of life that go into your decision about going to college for the first time, completing your degree or pursuing graduate studies. Our number one goal is to work with you to find a place that meets all of your needs with supportive students and faculty.
How can AppNav help you?
Based on over 35 years experience working with college-bound students, Application Navigation has developed tools and expertise for guiding each unique individual based on his and her specific needs and goals. We’ve also teamed up with experts in the field of veteran affairs, mental health and higher education to be able to provide a multi-faceted approach specifically for returning vets.
What’s the process?
It all starts with a conversation. We encourage you to contact us to set up a time to chat on the phone.
Next, we’ll have you fill out an intake form to learn more details about what you hope to achieve in college as well as some background information. We’ll then get to work on identifying your options, sending you a report and guide you through the process of researching the schools on your own.
Finally, we’ll help you organize your applications, guide you through the essay process and be by your side until you hit “submit”.
Of course, there will be other conversations over the phone, Skype, FaceTime, email, in-person or any other form of communication that works best for you throughout the process. We’ll also have discussions about your funding source(s), how to obtain your Yellow Ribbon funding and anything else you may have concerns and/or questions about.
How much does it cost?
Absolutely nothing. You’ve already done your part by serving our country. We are also thankful for the generosity of members in our community who have donated to our organization. Together, we thank you for your service.
We’re continuing to build our resource links for veterans. To provide you with the best information, we only link to reputable services and organizations. If you have additional suggestions, we’d love to include them. Thank you!
